This pretty garden proved to be the perfect antidote to a hot week at RHS Hampton Court. With a romantic, birdcage gazebo, central water feature and pastel shades of planting, the public loved it.

The garden celebrates the legacy of three influential women in 19th-century Spanish literature - Rosalía de Castro, Emilia Pardo Bazán, and Concepción Arenal.

The central seating area of this garden is very inviting, with gentle screening and a simple green and white colour palette. Surrounded by woodland planting with a modern take on naturalistic design, it features parasol plane trees for dappled shade.

Aimed at helping gardeners create wildlife-friendly spaces, this gently planted city pocket features many small space ideas such as a tiny pond and a hedgehog home. Textural foliage and perennials in pinks and purples weave through a dancing line of hazel uprights, creating a loose natural screen.
