Jo Whiley is one of Britain’s most iconic radio DJs, known for her warm presence and deep passion for music. Originally from Northampton, she began her broadcasting career in Brighton on BBC Radio Sussex before joining BBC Radio Four’s WPFM, a youth culture and music show. Her TV breakthrough came as band booker for Channel 4’s The Word, introducing UK audiences to acts like Nirvana and Rage Against The Machine. Jo joined BBC Radio One in 1993, later hosting her own daytime show, and now presents weekday evenings on BBC Radio Two. Beyond radio, she’s a regular Glastonbury presenter and a committed charity ambassador for Mencap, Tommy’s, and the Cri du Chat Syndrome Support Group.
